Indicator Survey: Almost All Minang People Are Not Satisfied With Jokowi's Performance
JAKARTA - The Indicators survey institute presented the results of a survey regarding the level of public satisfaction with the performance of President Joko Widodo, along with its demographic basis.
As a result, around 59.2 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with Jokowi's performance. Meanwhile, there were 38.5 respondents who said they were not satisfied and 2.1 said they did not know or did not answer.
If you look at the level of satisfaction according to socio-demographic, based on ethnicity, the lowest satisfaction with Jokowi's performance comes from the Minang ethnic. Minang people who are satisfied with Jokowi's performance are only 2.8 percent. While those who are not fasting are 97.2 percent.
"In Minang, only 2.8 percent are satisfied, brothers and sisters. Almost 100 percent of Minang people are dissatisfied with Pak Jokowi's performance", said Executive Director of Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi in a virtual survey presentation, Wednesday, August 23.
The low level of satisfaction is also in the Sundanese ethnic community, which is only 45.9 percent. Meanwhile, 50.9 percent were dissatisfied and 3.2 percent did not answer.
Furthermore, the Malay community is also more dissatisfied with Jokowi's performance. Respondents who claim to be satisfied are 47.2 percent and those who are not satisfied are 52.8 percent.
On the other hand, more ethnic Javanese, Bata, Madurese, Betawi, and Bugis people claim to be satisfied with Jokowi's performance. The highest satisfaction came from the Batak community, 71.1 percent were satisfied and 28.3 were dissatisfied.
"The level of satisfaction in several pockets that are not the traditional base of Jokowi's supporters is much lower. Support for satisfaction with President Jokowi still comes from Javanese, Batak, and Madurese ethnic groups, which are also not bad", he said.

For information, this survey was conducted in the range of July 30 to August 4, 2021. The sample was chosen completely at random using the multistage random sampling method.
Respondents who took part in the survey were 1.220 Indonesian citizens who had the right to vote and were over 17 years old or married. The survey's margin of error is about 2.9 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
