Collaborating With Sandiaga Uno, Bahlil Picks Up Investment From The UAE To Aceh Worth 750 Million US Dollars
JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia said in the near future his party will visit the United Arab Emirates to finalize the discussion of investment commitments. He said that the UAE plans to invest in Indonesia to build halal tourism in Aceh.
Furthermore, Bahlil said he would invite the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to the UAE in November to follow up on the country's investment plan. This effort is also one way to restore the creative economy that was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"God willing, in November we will go to the United Arab Emirates if there is a plan with the group to discuss one of them the halal tourism agenda. Indeed, Indonesia is easy and difficult", he said in a virtual press conference, Monday, August 23.
Until now, said Bahlil, the government is preparing detailed incentive plans and simplifying the required licensing process. It is hoped that all the things needed can be completed in the near future so that investment commitments can be realized immediately.
"Regarding halal tourism, it is true that there is an investment plan from the United Arab Emirates to build a halal tourism area in Aceh. Now we are compiling the detailed steps for some of the incentives and permits they asked for", he said.
