Jokowi Reminds Pandemic Still Threatening Even Though Hospital Occupancy Rate Drops

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that currently, the number of occupancy rates for COVID-19 treatment beds in hospitals and centralized self-isolation areas is decreasing. However, he reminded all parties to adhere to health protocols.

"The occupancy rate of beds in hospitals is decreasing, the number of residents in self-isolation places is decreasing, but we have not arrived at the end of the pandemic. COVID-19 is still a real threat," he said as quoted from the @jokowi Instagram account, Monday, August 23.

He said all parties without exception must play a role in breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19.

Jokowi said that health workers, doctors, and nurses were at the forefront of treating patients. Meanwhile, the community must maintain health protocols. According to him, by implementing health protocols in a disciplined manner, the community has helped doctors, nurses, and health workers.

"By wearing masks, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, we protect ourselves, our families, and the environment, while helping to reduce the burden on doctors, nurses, and health workers," he concluded.
