PCR Tests Officially Lowered In Price, Ridwan Kamil: Why Did It Cost IDR 900 Thousand-IDR1 Million Yesterday?
JAKARTA - The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, said that he personally hopes that the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test to find out someone has been exposed to COVID-19 can be free.
"The point is, if you can get it for free, it's free. But don't burden the people. In India alone, it can be cheap below IDR 100,000, why did we get IDR 900 thousand to 1 million yesterday", said Ridwan Kamil when asked for his opinion on the policy of reducing the price of PCR tests to IDR450 thousand to IDR 500 thousand in Bandung, reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 18.
His party will evaluate the decrease in PCR prices and he hopes that PCR test service providers can comply with the decision.
"By reducing IDR 400 thousand to IDR 500 thousand, we will evaluate it first. Hopefully, the management will comply and make it easier for efforts. Until one day this pandemic will be easy so we can focus on other things", he said.
