275 Policemen On Guard For The Funeral Of King Mangkunegara IX Buried With Mataram Traditions
JAKARTA - The King of Pura Mangkunegaran KGPAA Mangkunegara IX was buried with the Mataram tradition today, Sunday, August 15 at 10.00 western Indonesia time. The Acting (Plt) of Pengageng of Mandrapura Pura Mangkunegaran Surakarta, Supriyanto Waluyo in Solo, Friday said the procedure for the traditional Mataram funeral is almost the same as the Javanese traditional procession.
King Mangkunegara IX, who died at the age of 70, left behind one wife, two sons, and two daughters. His four children are GPH Paundrakarna Jiwa Suryanegara, GRAy Putri Agung Suniwati, GRAj Ancillasura Marina Sudjiwo, and GPH Bhre Cakrahutomo Wira Sudjiwo.
Meanwhile, until now the Mangkunegaran Temple Complex in Surakarta is starting to be filled with condolences, one of which is from President Joko Widodo.
When asked about the figure of the King, Joko said that KGPAA Mangkunegara IX was a charismatic and kind person. "In the 30 years I have been here, I have never once seen him angry, indeed he is a very kind and generous person," said Supriyanto Waluyo, quoted from ANTARA.
A total of 275 personnel from the Surakarta City Police have been prepared to secure the funeral of King Pura Mangkunegaran Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya (KGPAA) Mangkunagoro IX who will be buried at Astana Girilayu, Matesih Karanganyar, Central Java.

"We sent 275 personnel to provide security during the funeral procession until the process of escorting the bodies to Astana Girilayu Metesih Karanganyar," said Head of the Surakarta Police Commissioner Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak, on the sidelines of securing the Mangkunegaran Temple in Surakarta, Friday.
The police chief on this occasion appealed to the public not to come to the Mangkunegaran Temple to pay their respects because it was still during the COVID-19 pandemic. Grand Commissioner Pol Ade Safri hopes that the public can send prayers from their homes because only family and relatives will be able to access Mangkunegaran Temple.
