Death Cases Due To COVID-19 Increase By 1,466 People, The Most In Central Java

JAKARTA - Data from the Ministry of Health shows the addition of 1,466 deaths due to COVID-19 in Indonesia, with the largest number occurring in Central Java with 386 deaths.

Data received from the COVID-19 Task Force also showed that there were 24,709 COVID-19 cases and 36,637 recovered patients.

Launching Antara, Thursday, August 12, with this addition, Indonesia has recorded a total of 3,774,155 cases of COVID-19 since the first patient was confirmed in March 2020. Of these, 3,247,715 people have recovered and 113,664 people have died.

There are now 412,776 active cases or patients undergoing treatment and isolation after being confirmed for COVID-19, or a decrease of 13,394 people compared to Wednesday, August 11.

302,070 people fall into the category of suspected COVID-19.

The additional figure was obtained after today's examination of 153,717 specimens from 136,252 people. A total of 28,740,077 specimens have been examined from 19,449,602 people since last year.

From the examination, it was found that the national positive rate or daily specimen positivity rate was 20.25 percent and for daily people, it was 18.13 percent.

The provinces that reported the most additional cases today are Central Java with 5,300 new cases, East Java with 3,161 new cases, West Java with 1,868 new cases, Bali with 1,353 new cases, and North Sumatra with 1,314 new cases.

While the largest addition of deaths today was reported by Central Java with 386 people died, East Java 305 people died, Lampung 98 people died, West Java 90 people died and 64 people died in East Kalimantan.
