Vaccination Rate Achievements Are Still Low, Bobby Nasution Hasn't Implemented Vaccine Certificate As Requirements To Enter Mal

MEDAN - Vaccination requirements to enter public places such as malls, tourism and others will not be implemented in the city of Medan.

Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said that the implementation of vaccination requirements for a number of activities must also take into account the achievement of vaccinations in the regions.

"If it is to be expanded (vaccination requirements) in Medan City, we are ready. We just have to be able to see the achievements of vaccination in the regions", said Bobby Nasution, Thursday, August 12.

Bobby Nasution explained that until now the vaccination in Medan City has only reached 21.6 percent. So Bobby said, if the rules for vaccination requirements were extended to Medan, it is hoped that the stock of vaccines from the government to Medan City should be stable.

"If for example later it is expanded in Medan City, our hope is of course from the Medan City Government so that the number of vaccines entering Medan will be more stable because we don't make a rule that entry to a service place must use vaccines, but the vaccination is not yet massive", said Bobby Nasution.

He conveyed that the Medan City Government would reduce the implementation of mass vaccinations. Vaccination will be carried out at the environmental level.

"We will reduce the mass vaccinations later, but go deeper to the level of the head of the environment", he concluded.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan said the government was planning to make the COVID-19 vaccine card a requirement for the public to access public places.

A number of regions have also implemented the requirement that visitors, employees, and merchants in malls, markets, restaurants, and other public places have a vaccine certificate, namely DKI Jakarta and Bandung.
