Health Worker, EO, Injects Vaccines For 599 People A Day, What Is The Ideal Number For Injecting One Vaccinator?

JAKARTA - The government is accelerating the COVID-19 vaccination program for the community. The target set by the government could even reach 2 million doses per day.

The government is doing various ways so that all people can be vaccinated. Various instruments were deployed. Police and TNI were deployed to achieve the target.

However -- at least until today -- the target of 2 million doses per day is still far from being realized in the field. The number of people who are injected is very volatile every day - as recorded in the data of the COVID-19 Task Force.

Sometimes it can get past the million marks. But the next day it can sag by half.

Not to mention the problem of uneven distribution of vaccines. Last week, the regions screamed because their vaccine stocks ran out. Some even have to postpone the injection of the vaccine from the schedule.

Launching Djawanews, Tuesday, August 10, the viral video of a health worker with the initials EO who was caught injecting an empty COVID-19 vaccine caused a stir. EO has been named a suspect by the police. She also admitted he was negligent.

"I don't have any intentions, I purely just want to help volunteer to provide vaccines", said EO at the time.

She admitted that she was not fully concentrated after facing 599 people who were vaccine participants. EO also apologized to all parties. Especially to the families of children who have been vaccinated.

"And I apologize to all Indonesian people who have felt uneasy about this incident", she continued, who was ready to follow all legal processes.

Health Workers Tired?

The police are still investigating the motive of EO. But what the EO said should get more attention from the government. EO lost concentration due to having injected 599 vaccine participants.

A spokesperson for the COVID-19 Vaccination of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, admitted that health workers must be able to arrange shifts to reduce the workload. For her, the number of 599 vaccine participants could make health workers tired.

"One health worker can give 100-150 injections", said Nadia when contacted by Djawanews.

The figure mentioned is 3-4 times the number of vaccine participants who have been injected with EO.
