Deputy Chairman Of Regional House of Representatives, Taufik, Examined By KPK On Land Corruption

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI, Ahmad Riza Patria, responded to the summons of the Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Regional House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, by the KPK on suspicion of corruption in land acquisition in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon, Jakarta.

Riza views that the summoning of Regional House of Representatives members who come from the same party as him does not cause problems. Because Taufik was examined as a witness.

"God willing, there will be no problems", said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, August 10.

Moreover, according to him, the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) summoned Taufik in the interest of the investigation. All DKI officials involved in the land budget procurement process at the BUMD Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya were also summoned by the KPK.

"That's procedural. Everyone is asked for information with their respective positions, in the field of finance they are asked, from BUMD (Regionally-Owned Enterprises) they are asked, representatives of the Regional House of Representatives are asked. Just all procedures", he said.

Today, Taufik is being questioned by KPK investigators as a witness for the suspect Yoory Corneles, who is the former President Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya.

Besides Taufik, the KPK also summoned other witnesses. They are Daily Implementation of BUMD Development Agency for the 2019 period, Riyadi and the Head of Sub-Division of Cash Flow Reporting at DKI Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency, Sudrajat Kuswata.

Taufik also admitted that he had participated in discussing the Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya budget. "Yes, it was discussed (budget, ed)", said M Taufik to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building.

Even so, he admitted that he did not know that this money was used as a bankroll by the suspects. M Taufiq even learned about the alleged corruption case in land acquisition from the media.

"Actually, the Regional House of Representatives does not understand technical matters. They only determine the prefix and then it is submitted to the BUMD", he said, adding that he had never opened any communication with regional-owned businesses.
