Ridwan Kamil Suggests Outdoor Cafes To Serve Dine-in

BANDUNG - The Governor of West Java, M Ridwan Kamil, proposed that restaurants and cafes that have open spaces be allowed to serve meals on the spot for a duration of 30 minutes.

“However, closed cafes or restaurants must still take away. Unless he has an outdoor yard, that can be done, with a maximum capacity of 25 percent of visitors and one meal for 30 minutes", said Ridwan Kamil at a virtual press conference from the Pakuan building, Bandung City, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 10.

The central government has again extended the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level 4, the Provincial Government proposes that several activities can be carried out during the PPKM period which will last until August 16, 2021.

According to Ridwan Kamil, by providing opportunities for cafes or restaurants that have open spaces to eat on the spot, they can open up the economy proportionally.

"So it's not 100 percent yet, because not all cafes can open. If everything is opened, including indoor ones, which when you open the door directly to an air-conditioned room, it is not yet possible to serve meals on the spot", he said.

In addition, the West Java Provincial Government also proposed that PPKM be implemented on a sub-district basis.

The reason is that not all sub-districts have level 4 status and like Bogor Regency, where out of 40 sub-districts of which they are already level 2, even level 1.

According to him, for sub-districts level 2 and level 1 face-to-face schools can be held.

"If this Wednesday, the Coordinating Minister (Luhut Binsar) passes West Java's proposal, a sub-district-based national PPKM will be implemented, God willing, face-to-face meetings will come soon. My feeling is that half of West Java can meet face-to-face", said Ridwan Kamil.
