Bobby Nasution Threatens To Close Medan City Roads If Business Actors Violate PPKM

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution threatened to re-implement the closure of inner-city roads if the community, especially business actors, still violated the Level 4 Regulations for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"For example, economic actors, who eat and drink continue to violate, we will see in three days who violates. We combine, we close the road", said Bobby Nasution, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 10.

The PPKM Level 4 rules in Medan City allow business actors to remain open but with strict health protocols and are only allowed to open until 21.00 local time.

Especially for the food stalls, street vendors, hawker stalls, and the like, they are only allowed to accept visitors to eat in places with a maximum meal time of 20 minutes.

"The patrols are done, Justice is done, if it is still like that (violating PPKM Level 4-ed rules) we will close the road again. But in places where we feel there are still many violations," he said.

He also emphasized that all Medan residents should apply the 5M health protocol, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and limiting mobilization and interaction.

Previously, the government extended the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) outside Java and Bali for two weeks, from August 10, 2021, to August 23, 2021.

Areas outside Java and Bali that implement PPKM level four, namely as many as 45 districts/cities, then as many as 320 districts/cities implement PPKM level three, and 39 districts/cities implement PPKM level two.
