The Number Of COVID-19 Patients At The Jogja Hospital Decreases

YOGYAKARTA - The number of patients exposed to COVID-19 who underwent treatment at the Yogyakarta Hospital in the past week showed a downward trend. Currently, the occupancy of isolation treatment beds is about 80 percent.

“The downward trend has occurred since August 3. The number of patients being treated does not exceed 70 people", said the President Director of Yogyakarta Hospital, Ariyudi Yunita, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 9.

According to her, the number of COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in the isolation room of the Jogja Hospital is currently recorded at 61 patients. Since August 3, the number of patients has fluctuated but is in the range of 60 patients every day.

Jogja Hospital has also increased the capacity of beds in the isolation room from 72 to 80, to increase the capacity for patients.

In addition to the reduced number of patients in the isolation room, the density of patients in the Emergency Installation (IGD) of the Jogja Hospital has also begun to decrease.

“It's less crowded and there are no longer long lines. "The handling of COVID-19 starts with screening in the ER, for example for patients who show symptoms but have not received positive confirmation", she said.

However, according to her, there are still quite a lot of patients who need treatment in the ICU, with beds reaching 100 percent.

“The number of beds in the ICU room is eight beds. It's all filled up", she said.

Jogja Hospital applies the use of treatment beds with a cohort system, which separates male and female patients and separates patients according to the symptoms and complaints experienced.

Regarding the availability of oxygen, Ariyudi ensures that the supply is smooth and meets the needs of patient care.
