KPK Searches Banjarnegara PUPR Office, Regent Budhi Sarwono Selects No Comment

BANJARNEGARA - Banjarnegara Regent, Budhi Sarwono, was reluctant to comment on the searches carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the offices of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (DPUPR) of Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java, as well as the PT Bumirejo Office.

"Currently, I have not given a statement. I will let you know if there is a statement", said Budhi when met by reporters at the Banjarnegara Regent's official house, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 9.

The regent, who was accompanied by several Banjarnegara Regency Government officials, looked relaxed even though one of the locations searched by the KPK, namely PT Bumirejo, was at his private residence.

Meanwhile, a team from the KPK left the Banjanegara Regency DPUPR office at 17.15 WIB after searching for approximately seven hours.

The head of the Banjarnegara Regency DPUPR, Yusuf Winarso, who came out of his office at 17.25 WIB went straight to his car without giving any statement to the reporters who approached him to ask for an interview.

A team from the KPK conducted a search at the Banjarnegara Regency DPUPR office and PT Bumirejo office on DI Panjaitan Street, Banjarnegara.

"Today, the investigation team has scheduled searches at two locations in the Banjarnegara area, Central Java. The two locations in question are the PUPR Office of the Banjarnegara Regional Government and the PT BR office which is located at Jalan DI Panjaitan, Banjarnegara", said KPK spokesman Ali Fikri.

Currently, he said, the search activity is ongoing and his agency will inform you of the full development.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently investigating allegations of corruption, participating in chartering, procurement, or leasing at the PUPR Office of the Banjarnegara Regency Government for 2017-2018, and receiving gratuities.

With the investigation, the KPK has named a suspect in this case.

However, the KPK has yet to announce the chronology of the case and the parties named as suspects.

As is the policy of the KPK leadership to publish case construction and parties who have been designated as suspects, it will be carried out when forced efforts have been made to either arrest or detain suspects.
