Disposing Of 25 Sacks Of Chewing Gum Waste In Cianjur On Trial, Sentenced To A Fine Of IDR 200 Thousand
CIANJUR - Civil Service Police Unit, Cianjur Firefighters, and the Cianjur Environment Service, West Java, have arrested eight people who dispose of litter in a sting operation in Cianjur City.
"One of them was caught dumping 25 sacks of chewing gum waste on the East Ring Road, Karangtengah District. The waste was brought from Bandung and disposed of in Cianjur", said Head of Cianjur Civil Service Police Unit, Hendri Prasetyadi, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 9.
The perpetrator immediately underwent a trial and was given a fine of IDR 200,000 by Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Public Order and Public Peace and Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2021 concerning Waste Management.
Meanwhile, seven other people affected by OTT (Hand Catch Operation) were arrested by joint officers while disposing of household waste on the East Ring Road, in front of the Cianjur Main Market and Bandung Street, but they only received a warning.
“Those who are caught are immediately recorded. If they do the same thing again, they will be subject to a fine and will undergo a trial at the Cianjur District Court. This OTT activity will continue to be held so that people do not litter", he said.
He said that the sanctions for residents who were caught OTT were applied wisely and had been regulated in the Regional Regulation, especially so far, DLH had implemented various systems so that residents did not litter.
