5 Members Of The Labura Regional House of Representatives Karaoke Night With Women And Using Drugs, Police Will Hold Cases

MEDAN - Police are still investigating the cases of dozens of people who were arrested during karaoke with women at five-star hotels in Asahan Regency. The police will investigate a case involving members of the North Labuhan Batu Regional House of Representatives.

A total of 17 people were arrested by the police during the PPKM (Restrictions on Community Activities) raid on 7 August. Of these, 14 people tested positive for drugs.

The Asahan Police Chief, AKBP Putu Yudha Prawira, said the case was held to determine the articles suspected of the 17 people who were secured at the location.

"We will also hold a case, related to the determination of the article that will be charged with the 17 people", said Putu to reporters, Monday, August 9.

Until now, Putu said, his party had not determined the status of the 17 people. Because it is still being investigated and investigated by officers.

His party has also collaborated with the provincial and district National Narcotics Agency as well as the Asahan State Prosecutor's Office, to conduct an assessment of those who have tested positive for drugs.

"We are still conducting inspections and deepening. Then we have coordinated with the North Sumatra BNNP and also the Asahan Regency National Narcotics Agency. Then we have coordinated with the Asahan state prosecutor to carry out an integrated assessment", he explained.

Regarding the possession of drugs and the person suspected of carrying out the transaction, Putu emphasized that until now the investigators continue to investigate.

"We are still conducting intensive inspections of these 17 people. Then we are also still making developments related to the origin of the goods or the seller of these goods to among the 17 people we have detained", he said.

Putu also explained that at the crime scene, officers secured several pieces of evidence, including pellets or fragments of ecstasy pills that visitors were trying to destroy to eliminate evidence.

"That's true (evidence). At the crime scene, we found several ecstasy pills. Some were quarter shards, some were half shards. There were also shards because some might have been stepped on. So, there was an attempt to dispose of these items. However, we are still investigating, we will sort out these 17 people which we can later be named as suspects", said Putu.
