COVID-19 Update As Of August 9: 20.709 New Cases, 44.959 Cured Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 145,202 specimens were examined with the results of 20.709 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3.686.740 people and 448.508 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, August 9.
Today's recovered cases increased by 44.959 cases, bringing the total to 3.129.661 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1.475 people and the total was 108.571 people.
The province with the newest cases was in Central Java with 4.210 cases and a total of 419.356 cases. Followed by West Java which has 2.422 new cases with a total of 639.404 cases. East Java has 1.965 new cases and a total of 339.239 cases. Then, East Kalimantan has 1.070 new cases and a total of 132.280 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 8.800 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 6.108 recovered cases, East Kalimantan with an additional 3.477 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 3.214 recovered cases.

No province has reported zero new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 28.134.393.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 26.37 percent", he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 256.748 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 50.630.315 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 24.212.024 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
