Garudafood, Garuda Nut Producer And Gery Chocolatos Owned By Conglomerate Sudhamek Agung Waspodo Raise Sales Of Rp4.18 Trillion
JAKARTA - Snack producer, PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (GOOD) posted performance growth in the first six months of this year. Garudafood's profit and revenue recorded an increase in the first semester of 2021.
Garudafood recorded net profit growth of 102 percent to Rp232 billion in the first semester of 2021 compared to Rp115 billion in the same period last year. One of the drivers of the increase in net profit was the increase in sales by the company's subsidiary, namely PT Mulia Boga Raya Tbk (KEJU) which was acquired in October 2020.
Garudafood Director Paulus Tedjosutikno said the company owned by the conglomerate Sudhamek Agung Waspodo had earned a 6.9 percent increase in sales to Rp4.18 trillion during the first semester of 2021. This figure increased compared to the same period the previous year of Rp3.91 trillion.
This increase occurred both in the domestic market, which rose 7 percent, and in the export market, which rose 6.1 percent from the previous year.
"The level of consumer confidence has increased and various stimulus efforts from the government have also been welcomed by the public even though the pandemic is still ongoing," he said in a press release, quoted on Saturday 7 August.
The momentum of Lebaran, said Paulus, was also one of the factors that also influenced the company's sales growth. Garudafood currently has exported its products to more than 20 countries with a focus on ASEAN countries, China, and India.

On the other hand, Paulus did not deny that the second semester would again be a challenge where the entire community is currently facing the second wave of a fairly large pandemic.
"Seeing these conditions, as industry players will continue to support the government's efforts in accelerating the handling of the pandemic, one of which is the establishment of herd immunity through vaccination programs," he said.
As for the first semester of 2021, the company recorded total assets of Rp6.7 trillion. This figure is up 2.5 percent compared to the same period in the previous year of Rp6.5 trillion.
