BNN Records Drug Cases Rising During PPKM, Arman Depari: Syndicate Takes Advantage Of Logistics Cars
JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) said that there had been an increase in drug cases during the implementation of the restriction on community activities (PPKM) in Jakarta.
"Until last June, there were indications of an increase. Many confiscations were carried out by officers from both the police and BNN against many types of drugs including methamphetamine and marijuana, including new types of drugs", said Deputy for Eradication of BNN, Arman Depari, in Pondok Kopi, Jakarta, Antara, Friday, August 6th.
Arman said the increase in drug abuse cases during PPKM proved that the demand for these illicit goods in the community was still high. "This means that if the supply increases, there is a possibility that demand from the public will increase", said Arman Depari.

Arman Depari added that one of the modes used by criminals was to take advantage of the PPKM situation by distributing drugs using logistics cars.
"Our experience a few months ago was that drug syndicates took advantage of the lockdown situation by using logistics transport vehicles filled with drugs", said Arman Depari.
The perpetrators of these drug crimes, said Arman, used a logistics car for necessities to pass through the PPKM blocking post.
"Of course it means that if there is an officer's inspection, it will make it easier for them to pass", said Arman.
