Task Force Closes 7 Nightlife Places In Jayapura, Turns Out There Are Visitors Who Reactive COVID-19

PAPUA - A total of 7 nightclubs operating in the Entrop area, Jayapura, Papua are temporarily closed. This closure was carried out after the COVID-19 Task Force law enforcement team conducted a judicial operation.

Deputy Head of Jayapura City Police, AKBP Supraptono, said that the closure of the entertainment venue was due to operating beyond the provisions of activity restrictions. In one place, Bar K even received a letter of reprimand from the officer.

At this location, officers had time to conduct rapid antigen on 16 visitors. One of the visitors appeared to be reactive to COVID-19.

"Residents whose results are positive are immediately taken to the LPMP Kotaraja to undergo centralized quarantine", he explained in Jayapura as reported by Antara, Friday, August 6.

In carrying out the raid, all elements were involved, including the Civil Service Police Unit. Raids will continue to be carried out according to a predetermined schedule.

The judicial operation was carried out to follow up the Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2020 and the Mayor's Instruction No. 9 of 2021 regarding the prevention and spread of COVID-19 and the imposition of restrictions on community activities.

"The team will continue to carry out raids considering that Jayapura City is included in level 4 of handling COVID-19", said AKBP Supraptono.

Meanwhile, the results of the raid carried out by the law enforcement team arrested 66 residents who committed violations.

Of these 56 people were tried for a minor crime and 10 others were not because they were underage. Of the 56 people in court, 47 people paid a fine of IDR 200,000/person each, and nine others served sentences.
