Viral Healthworkers In Bandarlampung Attacked Due To Oxygen, Police Name Three Suspects

JAKARTA - The Bandarlampung Police have named three suspects for the beating of health workers at the Kedaton Health Center, Bandarlampung City on Sunday, July 4.

"We have filed a case and have named three suspects for assaulting a health worker at the Kedaton Health Center, namely the initials A, NV, and DD," said Head of the Satreskrim Polresta Bandarlampung Police Commissioner Resky Maulana, in Bandarlampung, reported by Antara, Sunday, August 1.

He explained that the investigation conducted by the Bandarlampung Police investigator and based on the evidence obtained such as a video that went viral on social media and other evidence, namely glasses and stones left at the location, all pointed to the three perpetrators.

"This evidence is a very direct clue, where at that time the three were at the scene. For this stone evidence, in the video it is shown that someone is about to take something, it turns out he took a stone," he said.

He said that in the mistreatment of the health workers, the three perpetrators had their respective roles, brothers A and NV beat the victim while D held the health worker.

Police Commissioner Resky emphasized that the three suspects would be charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding torture, with a threat of seven years in prison.

"Now we are still processing it further and asking for information from the three," he said.

Regarding suspect A who made a back report some time ago, he said that everything had been processed, but in the case that was carried out there was evidence that could not be found what the perpetrator was referring to.

"In addition, the investigative team also did not find the crime. Because they have not found evidence that leads to a criminal act. Therefore, A's counter-report cannot be given legal certainty," he said.

Previously, a health worker in Bandar Lampung was abused by a number of people while undergoing picket on Sunday (4/7). The incident began when the perpetrator wanted to borrow an oxygen cylinder at the Kedaton Health Center on the grounds that his parents were sick at home, but the health workers rejected it because they did not bring the patient to the location.
