Rules During COVID-19 Pandemic, Emmy Awards Participants Must Show Proof Of Vaccination

JAKARTA - The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences requires nominees and invitees to the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 11 and 12 and/or the main Emmy Awards ceremony on September 19 to show proof of having been vaccinated before September.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, guests will not be allowed in unless they can show proof of vaccination, in addition to restrictions on the number of people in the room.

This development comes at a time when the Delta variant of COVID-19 is circulating and is prompting a new round of lockdowns, including in Los Angeles County, which once again requires the wearing of masks indoors regardless of vaccination status.

Meanwhile, the main Emmy ceremony will be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer.

The most-nominated platforms are HBO/HBO Max (130 nominations combined) and Netflix (129 nominations combined).

The most-nominated programs are the Netflix drama "The Crown" and the Disney+ drama "The Mandalorian" with 24 nominations each. There's also the Apple TV+ comedy "Ted Lasso" entering the show with the most nominations for comedy with 20 nominations.

Last year's Emmy Awards featured emcees and several presenters at the Staples Center, but nominees remained off-site at their homes or COVID-safe viewing parties.
