Still Far From Target, New Daily Vaccine Reaches Around 800 Thousands Per Day
JAKARTA - Until Sunday, July 25, the COVID-19 vaccination acceleration program continued to increase. The COVID-19 Task Force reported that 44,469,974 people had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, recipients of the second dose of the vaccine have reached 17,906,504. In total there have been 62,376,478, either for the first dose or the second dose. However, this number is still far below the national target of 2083265,720, which is estimated to be able to create her immunity for the community.
For Sunday, the accumulated increase in the number of recipients reached 362,048 people, based on data from the COVID-19 Task Force compiled on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, 420,508 people have received a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the report.

This achievement is also still less than the daily target requested by President Joko Widodo. Previously, Jokowi asked that in July, the Task Force would be able to carry out one million doses per day. The target will be increased again for August to 2 million doses per day. For next October, the Chairperson of the Committee for Handling Coronavirus Disease 2019 and National Economic Recovery, Airlangga Hartarto, even targets up to 3 million vaccines per day.
The uneven distribution of vaccines seems to be the main obstacle to achieving this target. For DKI Jakarta, it is estimated that 76 percent of the population has been vaccinated from the set target. However, some areas are currently experiencing a shortage of vaccines.
