MATARAM - The COVID-19 Task Force Team from the Pemenang Health Center, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara picked up Patel Sagar Sureshbhai, a citizen from Mumbai, India who was confirmed positive for the coronavirus.

Head of Public Relations of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police Commissioner Artanto said the COVID-19 Task Force escorted by members of the police from the Senggigi Police picked up the person concerned from the Holiday Hotel Resort Lombok, West Lombok Regency.

"The person concerned was picked up this afternoon from the Holiday Hotel Resort Lombok and immediately taken to the NTB Provincial Hospital for treatment according to the COVID-19 health protocol", said Artanto, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 21.

Two days ago, Monday, July 19, Patel Sagar was caught in possession of a certificate of positive PCR swab test results. The statement stating this was revealed when he was about to go to Bali via the port in Pemenang, North Regency, using a fast boat.

Pemenang Mataram Class II Port Health Office (KKP) Working Area (Wilker) who received the Patel Sagar status confirmed positive for COVID-19, immediately coordinated with the Quarantine Control and Epidemiological Surveillance Section (PKSE) of the Mataram Class II KKP.

"Initially, they were directed to quarantine at the Medana Bay Marina Hotel, Lombok", he said.

However, Patel Sagar refused to undergo quarantine at the hotel located in the North Lombok Regency area and decided to continue self-isolation at the Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort, West Lombok Regency, Tuesday (20/7).

However, Patel Sagar's intention to undergo self-isolation was rejected by the hotel. As a follow-up, the West Lombok Health Service coordinated with the Mataram University Hospital (Unram).

"From the results of the coordination, the person concerned was referred to continue quarantine at the Nutana Hotel, Mataram City", he said.

Not long after entering the hotel room, Patel Sagar reportedly fled from the quarantine referral location for COVID-19 patients, at the Nutana Hotel, Mataram City.

The Unram Hospital, who heard the news of Patel Sagar's escape without confirmation from the hotel, immediately coordinated with the Mataram Class II KKP PKSE Section Team.

"With this news, then we from the police helped carry out the search until we found the person concerned at the Lombok Holiday Resort Hotel", he said.
