Indonesian Doctors Association In Solo Delivers Sad News, 13 Doctors Died Due To COVID-19
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) in Solo, Central Java, noted that 13 doctors on duty in Solo had died since the virus was announced in Indonesia.
"These include radiology, psychiatry, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesia, and general practitioners. Most of them are general practitioners, which are seven doctors", said Solo Indonesian Doctors Association Chairman, Adji Suwandono in Solo, as reported by Antara, Monday, July 19.
According to him, the doctors who died were on average over 50 years old. Meanwhile, there are currently as many as 20 doctors who are undergoing self-isolation and nine other doctors are being treated at the hospital.
He admitted that the condition was not easy because a specialist doctor who died could not immediately be replaced by another doctor. Regarding the volunteer doctor, according to him, it should be discussed at the central level to ensure the profile of the volunteer.
"What kind of volunteers are there, whether the Koas is almost finished or is it already a doctor but is a resident or a prospective specialist. We have just discussed this together, for example, there is an internist or internal medicine specialist, ideally replacing another internist", he said.

Similarly, the President Director of the Bung Karno Hospital Surakarta, Wahyu Indianto, said the hospital is one of the hospitals that are strict in implementing security procedures.
"Especially in the isolation room, no one can enter or leave. The officers also have to follow procedures. This includes IDG and poly, but we still miss it", he said.
He said recently that several health workers, including doctors who were dealing with COVID-19, were also exposed to the virus.
"In fact, yesterday the doctors who were dealing with COVID-19 were all hit because they were really tired so their immunity went down. I had asked for help from Moewardi Hospital to fill the vacancy for this doctor but before the doctor came, it turned out that one of our doctors had tested negative so he could come back to work", he said.
