The Body Of A COVID-19 Patient In Kupang Was Forcibly Taken By The Family, The Police Tightened Care At The Hospital
KUPANG - The police will tighten security at the hospital in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to prevent the families from taking the bodies of COVID-19 patients forcibly.
"Our personnel is stationed at the hospital to prevent the incident of forced taking the bodies of COVID-19 patients from happening again", said Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Police Commissioner Rishian Krisna, in Kupang, Monday.
He said this was related to the action of taking the bodies of COVID-19 patients forcibly by the family at a hospital in Kupang City recently.
He said the police would strictly guard every referral hospital for handling COVID-19 in Kupang City. This guard, he said, is to provide a sense of security for the community and mediate if problems occur in handling COVID-19 patients.

"So later we can bridge between health agencies and the patient's family if there is a rejection of the funeral of the body according to the COVID-19 protocol", he said.
He hopes that people who have family members who have died due to exposure to COVID-19 are willing to be buried according to the COVID-19 protocol.
"This is important so that the handling runs smoothly and they do not contract COVID-19, including the surrounding community", he said.
