Mayor Of Madiun Requires State Ciivl Servants To Shop For MSME Products Around The House

MADIUN - Mayor of Madiun, Maidi, requires state civil servants (ASN) to shop for MSME products around their homes to meet their daily needs. The goal is to encourage the local economy to keep running during the Emergency Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) period.

"Currently, PPKM (Restrictions on Community Activities) is still an emergency. Most ASN work from home or WFH. I want them to help the community, especially MSME players, by buying nearby MSME products", said Mayor Maidi, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 16.

According to him, ASN still regularly receives salaries. Part of the salary is for daily needs, including meals. Therefore, the Mayor requires the purchase of daily necessities to be carried out at local MSMEs around the house.

ASN Madiun City Government is strictly prohibited from buying daily necessities far from the location where they live, let alone to outside the area. ASN must prioritize the surrounding environment.

"Every village has many MSME players. They are currently in dire need of assistance. With buying their products, it has been very helpful", he continued.

Maidi does not require buying up MSME products. Even small purchases are rewarded, and even those purchases will be monitored.

The mayor stated that his party had instructed the relevant agencies to collect data on the location of the ASN and its closest MSMEs, and would even monitor it virtually.

In addition, the appointed team will go down to carry out inspections so that monitoring is not only based on reports but will be carried out directly.

"This activity is mandatory. Later there will be a circular letter. This is for the sake of the sustainability of our economy together during the pandemic that has not ended", said Maidi
