Nicolas Cage Cancels Playing The Role Of Joe Exotic For Amazon Series
JAKARTA - Actor Nicolas Cage has canceled playing the character Joe Exotic for the series about the life of the big cat collector. Cage confirmed this news to Variety on Tuesday, July 13.
“I read two great scripts but I think Amazon felt this material was too old”, said Nicolas Cage.
Amazon has been working on this series project since a year ago when the Tiger King series from Netflix was popular. On the other hand, streaming service Peacock is producing a series about Joe Exotic starring Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin and John Cameron Mitchell as Joe Exotic.
Joe Exotic is a zoo owner known for his eccentric dressing style. His name has also been cited as the mastermind behind the plot to assassinate Carole Baskin.

Amazon was also reluctant to comment on the Joe Exotic series project, including the resignation of Nicolas Cage from the lead role.
Meanwhile, Cage will star himself in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Cage's character is told as an actor who is paid to appear on a conglomerate's birthday as part of a CIA operation.
