Completion Of 3 COVID-19 Emergency Hospitals In Jakarta Accelerated
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has accelerated the completion of three COVID-19 emergency hospitals in Jakarta.
"In accordance with the duties and functions of the Ministry of PUPR to prepare not only isolation rooms but also hospitals. First, the Hajj Dormitory has five buildings that were converted into COVID-19 hospitals with a total of 774 beds," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in a written statement. received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 12.
Minister Basuki has reported to President Joko Widodo in a Limited Meeting on the Evaluation of COVID-19 Handling, this Monday regarding the utilization of the Hajj Dormitory at Pondok Gede and the Pasar Rumput High-Level Flats which are already operating as COVID-19 emergency hospitals.
In addition, the Minister of PUPR also explained the plan to repair the PKIA Kiara Building in the RSCM environment and prepare field hospitals in the area in coordination with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of PUPR continues to accelerate the provision of infrastructure to support the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are three buildings that have been completed and are being renovated to be used as additional emergency hospitals and isolation/observation facilities in DKI Jakarta, namely the Hajj Dormitory in Pondok Gede, the High-Level Flats (Rusun) Pasar Rumput, and the Maternal Child Health Center Building (PKIA). Kiara at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).
According to Basuki, the five Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory buildings used as COVID-19 hospitals are Building A, which has completed renovations and has been operating since last Saturday, July 10; Building B will be completed on Monday, July 12; Building C will be completed and operational Tuesday, July 13; and finally, the D5 building is expected to be renovated on Thursday, July 15, including the D3 and D4 buildings which will be used for health workers (Nakes).
"Besides preparing isolation rooms, we are also installing liquid oxygen tanks today, because they just arrived from Cilegon last night and hopefully they will be finished tonight," he said.
Furthermore, the Pasar Rumput High-Level Flats utilize the existing 3 towers with a total of 5,952 beds. Tower 1 will utilize 689 units with a total of 2067 beds, Tower 2 with 606 units with a total of 1818 beds, and Tower 3 with 689 units with a total of 2067 beds.
"Tower 1 is ready to operate, while Tower 2 and 3 for facilities and infrastructure are ready and today the distribution of medical equipment is being carried out. Towers 2 and 3 will be operated immediately when Tower 1 is full," said Minister Basuki.
Meanwhile, the PKIA Kiara Building at the RSCM will utilize buildings on floors 4,5,6 and 8,9,10 with a total of 394 beds. The renovation of PKIA Kiara will be completed in the next three weeks at the latest. Today, his party is coordinating with the Director of the RSCM and the Ministry of Health to finalize the design of the COVID-19 emergency hospital.
"For the field hospitals in our regions, we are ready to carry out in accordance with the orders of the BNPB and the Minister of Health," said Minister Basuki.
