Mayor Of Bima Arya: Bogor Hospitals In Oxygen Crisis

BOGOR - Mayor of Bogor, West Java, Bima Arya Sugiarto, said that most hospitals in Bogor City are experiencing a crisis in the availability of oxygen gas and liquid oxygen. Additional supplies are important because oxygen is indispensable for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The condition of the oxygen crisis was conveyed by the Mayor of Bima Arya after checking the availability of oxygen gas and liquid oxygen at a number of hospitals in Bogor City, Sunday, after a coordination meeting, at Bogor City Hall.

Some of the hospitals that were checked for the availability of oxygen gas and liquid oxygen were PMI Hospital, Medika Dramaga Hospital, and Mulia Hospital.

Bima Arya who was accompanied by the Head of the Bogor City Health Service, Sri Nowo Retno, said that from checking a number of hospitals, it was known that most of the hospitals in Bogor City were in relatively the same condition, namely the crisis of oxygen availability.

"The availability of oxygen at hospitals in Bogor City is supplied from six oxygen filling stations, but currently the supply is decreasing, so it has not yet met the demand," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, July 12.

According to Bima Arya, there are six hospitals in the city of Bogor which have a large supply because they have liquid oxygen tanks, but can only last two to three days.

"At Mulya Hospital last night there was an oxygen crisis. If there was no additional oxygen supply this morning, it could run out. There was a small supply earlier, but additional supplies are needed," he said.

Bima Arya explained that to overcome the oxygen crisis in hospitals in Bogor City, he had contacted the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut B Panjaitan and received an answer that he would help with additional supplies.

"Mr. Luhut promised to increase the supply of oxygen gas from two more oxygen filling stations, namely from Cileungsi and Citeureup in Bogor Regency," he continued.

According to Bima Arya, he asked for an additional supply of liquid oxygen of at least 5 tons from one filling station. So in addition, 10 tons from two filling stations, so that it can meet the oxygen needs of hospitals in the city of Bogor.

"Hospitals must communicate frequently, so that when an emergency occurs, it can be handled together," said Bima Arya.
