Aceh Police Secure Airplane Passengers Carrying Fake COVID-19 Test Letters
JAKARTA - The Aceh Police's General Criminal Investigation Directorate has secured a prospective airplane passenger suspected of falsifying a COVID-19 result certificate based on a PCR swab test.
The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Aceh Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Ade Harianto, through the Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Winardy, said in Banda Aceh, Thursday, that the suspect had the initials AOS (26).
"The perpetrator was arrested when he was about to travel using the Batik Air airline at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Blangbintang Aceh Besar, Wednesday, July 7," said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy as quoted by Antara.
The middle officer of the National Police said that the alleged forgery was revealed after officers from the Port Health Office (KKP) validated the letter of COVID-19 test results brought by the perpetrator.
At that time, the AOS perpetrators wanted to fly to Banda Aceh-Jakarta via SIM Airport using a Batik Air commercial airplane, said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy.
"After being validated, it turned out that the certificate was fake and the KKP officers immediately intercepted it, then handed it over to the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police for legal processing," said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy.

Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy said based on the examination, the AOS perpetrator was suspected of falsifying the PCR test letter by scanning the original letter from the Regional Health Laboratory (Labkesda).
The results of the scan, said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy, the perpetrator changed the PCR test results from positive to negative. The changed PCR results were used by the perpetrators to go to Jakarta
Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy said what the alleged perpetrator did was very dangerous by threatening the health of others. Where the suspected perpetrator was positive for COVID-19 based on the results of the PCR swab test.
"This action endangers the public, starting from checking in to getting into the plane, the perpetrator is suspected of spreading COVID-19," said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy.
Currently, said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy, the alleged perpetrator is secured and isolated at the Bhayangkara Police Hospital in Aceh. Investigators also secured evidence in the form of modified PCR test results, identities, and airline tickets.
"The alleged perpetrator of AOS has been isolated. Investigators have arrested the person concerned with Article 263 of the Criminal Code regarding letter falsification," said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy.
The Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police appealed that the public did not violate the provisions that had been set to control the spread of COVID-19. Moreover, to falsify the certificate of the results of the coronavirus examination.
"The public does not need to falsify the COVID-19 test results, both antigen, and PCR. If they are found to be falsified, they will be subjected to legal action and criminal proceedings," said Grand Commissioner Pol Winardy.
