Presidential Staff Collected IDR 150 Million On Moeldoko's Birthday, Proceeds For Funeral Officers
JAKARTA - Staff at the Presidential Staff (KSP) Office collected up to IDR 150 million on the birthday of the Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko. The money will then be handed over to officers who are in charge of funerals for COVID-19 bodies.
Moeldoko got a surprise on his 64th birthday. He was suddenly asked to chair a leadership meeting at KSP on Thursday afternoon, July 8.
However, when he arrived at the main meeting room of the Binagraha building, he was greeted by the roar of the Happy Birthday song sung by hundreds of his staff online.
"I suspect that it is usually meeting who orders me why this is suddenly requested outside the schedule", he said in a written statement to reporters.
After that, the event went smoothly and Moeldoko had time to cut the birthday bread given by his staff. However, the bread could not be shared among the staff because only special staff and deputies were present in the room with him.
When the event was about to end, KSP Intermediary Expert, Prita Laura, asked other staff to collect money. However, the money will not be used to give Moeldoko a birthday present but will be donated to the families of grave officials at several burial sites in Jakarta.

Hearing the idea, the former TNI Commander agreed. Moreover, these funeral officers worked non-stop during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"They work non-stop, especially after the increase in the number of victims of COVID-19", said Moeldoko.
After that, the entire deputy staff, up to the special staff immediately made donations. Even the internal security team, waiters, office boys, and technicians participated in the saweran.
As a result, in less than 30 minutes, IDR 140 million was collected. The plan is that the money will be handed over to 150 families of funeral workers who bury the bodies of COVID-19 patients.
As previously reported, Wednesday, July 7, Indonesia recorded the highest death toll from COVID-19, which was 1,040 people. Thus, since March 2020, the total number of COVID-19 patients who have died has reached 62,908.
