National Police Chief Issues Strict Travel Arrangement Scheme

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has prepared a new scheme for travel supervision during the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). Various conditions must be met by the community, for example, a vaccine card and a PCR certificate with negative results.

"Checking documents in the form of a vaccine card for a minimum of the first dose, a certificate of negative RT-PCR results for a maximum of D-2 or rapid antigen for a maximum of 1×24 hours and filling out E-HAC", said General Sigit in his statement, Wednesday, July 7.

This scheme also applies to people who travel through stations, terminals, and airports. Especially for traveling by plane, you must have vaccine and PCR information.

"Especially for residents who use planes, they are required to bring a vaccine card for at least the first dose and a negative result (information) for RT, PCR D-2", he said.

In fact, in this scheme, people who have met the requirements but show symptoms of COVID-19 are asked not to continue their journey. In addition, they must undergo a PCR test and isolation until the results of the examination come out.

"For passengers with COVID-19 indication symptoms, even though the RT-PCR certificate and antigen are negative, the passenger is not allowed to continue the journey and is required to carry out an RT-PCR test and be isolated while waiting for the test results", he stressed.

On the other hand, in this scheme, officers will also supervise and manage all matters related to travel. Starting from the ticket purchase process to the number of passengers.

"Regulate the volume of passengers and vehicles that will enter and purchase tickets online to determine passenger capacity and distribution of departures so that there is no buildup", he said.

Previously, the National Police Chief would also implement a new scheme at the isolation point during the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

The new rules use signs and the use of work permits. Because, the results of the evaluation of the implementation of PPKM, the community did not understand the essential and critical sectors so that there were crowds at the isolation points.

"So we convey to all ranks to make some kind of warning signs", said Sigit at the Java-Bali PPKM Virtual Press Conference, Monday, July 5.

"So we make signs starting at a distance of 1 kilometer, then 500 meters, and 200 meters whose contents are so that people who pass by then prepare the document requirements", he continued.
