Soon Facebook Users Can Create "A Thread" Like On Twitter

JAKARTA - In the end, all social media in the world will have the same features. Seen, Facebook seems to be testing the post thread feature (threads) as Twitter has.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra, who first spotted the feature, shared a screenshot showing what Facebook is testing the new feature.

This new feature will allow users to create posts that can be directly linked to previous posts. So, when a new post from one user appears on their follower's home page, it will be displayed linking to other posts in one thread section.

In addition, this feature can put together posts more neatly so that their followers can more easily follow updates from time to time. In comparison, on Facebook users can create a thread of 63,206 characters equal to 225 tweets.

The company explains that each posting thread will have a View Post Thread button. This button allows followers to easily search all posts in the thread. So when the user taps the View Post Thread button, it will display all the posts that are directly related in one thread.

However, it's not clear if this feature will work the same as Twitter, where followers can leave comments directly within the thread.

Facebook told TechCrunch, Tuesday, July 6, if it was indeed testing the feature. But the trial of the feature involved only a handful of people, with the category of public figures. The public figures in question are users with profiles who can attract more attention through their interactions on Mark Zuckerberg's social media.

The tests carried out on public figures are also related to the efficiency of interactions on Facebook, so the dissemination of information by public figures through posts in threads will run more efficiently as well.

Public figures with this new feature do not have to bother creating new posts separately which can interfere with the dissemination of information to their followers. However, the company cannot confirm when this feature will be released soon.
