DKI Jakarta COVID-19 Patient Mortality Rate Soars, Body Retrieval Officers Overwhelmed
JAKARTA - The officer for curing the bodies of COVID-19, Nuryasin, admitted that he was overwhelmed by the funeral of the bodies of people with the coronavirus, whose number had soared.
Nuryasin said that the ability of the prayer staff, known as the Monas Team, could bury a maximum of 12 bodies.
"Our ability is usually until tomorrow morning to only 12 bodies. That's 12 bodies too, we haven't slept at all," said Nuryasin as quoted by Antara, Friday, June 25 night.
Meanwhile, on Friday, June 25, said Nuryasin, there were 27 bodies whose management was carried out according to health protocols by the Monas Team.
"It's been 27 with this (I's body)," said Nuryasin.
In addition to these obstacles, there is another obstacle, namely the distance between regions in DKI Jakarta is too far from the special COVID-19 public cemetery in Rorotan, Cilincing, North Jakarta.
"Maybe it's the distance, because there used to be two places. Now there's only one door, so there's a queue," said Nuryasin.
Previously, the body of a person with COVID-19 with the initials I (40) had to be held at his house in the Pademangan area, North Jakarta for a day before being evacuated by officers and buried according to the COVID-19 protocol at the Karet Bivak Public Cemetery (TPU), Central Jakarta.
