Stranded By Tens Of Millions Of Rupiah In Loans, 36-year-old Man In Tulungagung Commits Suicide

TULUNGAGUNG - It has been revealed that the cause of death of Oscar Syarifudin (36), a resident of Patimura Housing, Tulungagung, East Java. Initially, Oscar, who was found by his older sister covered in blood, was thought to have died because he was murdered.

However, the results of the Tulungagung Police investigation said otherwise. Oscar died by suicide. Head of Division Public Relations Tulungagung Police, Iptu Trisakti Saiful Hidayat, said the cause of death was pure suicide.

Oscar was depressed because he was being chased by an online/online loan bill which allegedly reached tens of millions of rupiah.

"The results of the investigation and research on the victim's cellphone did not find any strange conversations. Only debt bills were found to the victim from several debt collectors from the loan", said Trisakti Saiful in Tulungagung as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 24.

This is reinforced by the post-mortem conducted by the investigator team in collaboration with Dr. Iskak Regional Hospital on the victim's body. There were cuts in the hands and neck as well as stab wounds to the abdomen and chest by the victim himself.

The autopsy results revealed that the wounds on the victim's body were clustered on the right and left sides of the chest, with an average width of 1.5-2 cm. Then slashes on the right wrist left, and neck surrounded by experimental wounds.

The description and model of the wound showed that it was carried out by the right hand, and the direction of the sharp equilateral wound was on the upper left side (holding the sharp side of the knife facing up), the slicing wound on the wrist was transverse in the direction from the outside to the inside.

"This unnatural way of death is very likely due to suicide", said Trisakti.

In addition to traces of wounds, the autopsy team also found that the victim's stomach was damaged due to the ingestion of the floor cleaner that Oscar allegedly drank before stabbing and slashing his own body.

"The cause of death of the victim was due to bleeding and punctures which caused his lungs to collapse", said Trisakti.

The police also checked the CCTV footage around the victim's house. However, no suspicious people or activities were found.

From the statements of several witnesses, the victim did have problems related to online loans. "This victim is suspected of being depressed because he is in a lot of debt and many are collecting bills so that in the end the victim commits suicide", Trisakti explained.

Previously, Oscar Syarifudin was found by his older sister in a dying condition and covered in blood in his house located in Patimura Housing, Tulungagung, last Wednesday, June 23 at around 14.00 WIB.

The victim's body was covered in blood with several stab wounds and cuts on the hands, neck, stomach, and chest. Beside the victim was found a kitchen knife 15 cm long, 1.5 cm wide with a black handle and the victim's cellphone.

Oscar was then immediately rushed to RSUD dr. Isaac used an ambulance to get help.

However, due to a lot of blood loss, Oscar's life could not be saved. Oscar exhaled while medical emergency assistance was being carried out at the emergency room at Dr. Iskak Regional Hospital at 16.37 WIB. Oscar's tragic death had raised suspicions that he was a victim of murder.
