JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has tightened a number of rules in micro-scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for the period from June 22 to July 5.
This is stated in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Number 769 of 2021 concerning the Extension of the Application of Micro-Scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
Many protocols on business activities were tightened until they were closed for two weeks. Anies said this new policy was carried out in line with the surge in COVID-19 cases.
"The significant increase in COVID-19 cases in DKI recently has forced us to finally make a serious decision to immediately suppress the spread of the virus", said Anies in his statement, Wednesday, June 23.
Anies explained that this new micro-scale PPKM regulation contains several adjustments related to operating hours, capacity, and other regulations in 11 sectors of community activity.
The former Minister of Education and Culture reiterated that the public should not underestimate the discipline of implementing health protocols.
"I need to remind again that the increase in cases is the responsibility of all of us to control and continue to implement strict health protocols so that the handling of COVID-19 can be carried out properly" said Anies.
