There Are 13 COVID-19 Red Zones In Central Java, Regional Heads Are Asked Not To Hesitate To Implement Micro-Lockdown
SEMARANG - All district/city-level regional heads in Central Java are asked not to hesitate in implementing a micro-lockdown or limited regional quarantine following the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.
"We have now reached the micro-lockdown, I have told my friends, the regents/mayors, don't hesitate. As soon as there are areas that show high epidemiological data, lock them immediately. As much as possible is okay", said the Governor of Central Java. Ganjar Pranowo, in Semarang district, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 22.
Ganjar revealed that the number of regencies/cities that are currently categorized as red zones in Central Java has increased from eight to 13, namely Kudus, Demak, Pati, Grobogan, Jepara, Blora, Pekalongan, Semarang, Brebes, Tegal, Sragen, Wonogiri, and Semarang.
According to him, all red zone areas must implement a micro-lockdown so that the mobility of citizens can be suppressed so that the handling of COVID-19 can be optimal.
"All I ask for alert, whatever the name is, if we see this trend there is an increase. We are not doing well, then all must be introspective and anticipate", he said.
