COVID-19 In East Jakarta Goes Crazy, School Entry Trials Are Stopped
JAKARTA - Face-to-face Learning (PTM) trials at Yamas Kramat Jati Junior High School, East Jakarta have been stopped. This follows the high number of COVID-19 cases in the region.
"We have stopped PTM activities since Thursday, June 17, after receiving a circular from the DKI Jakarta Education Office that temporarily PTM activities were suspended because of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases", said Yamas Junior High School Principal, Herdawati in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 18.
Yamas Middle School is one of several schools in East Jakarta that were forced to stop face-to-face learning activities due to the high number of cases of COVID-19 transmission in the area.
Herdawati said that she had socialized with parents about the termination of teaching and learning activities until an undetermined time limit.
Currently, 90 percent of Yamas Middle School teachers have also been working (learning) from home or WFH (work from home).
"Only less than 10 percent of those who carry out activities in schools in the context of filling out the e-Rapot and accepting new students (PPDB), and even then on the condition that they must take the vaccine first", said Herdawati.
