A BRI ATM Machine In Bekasi Hacked, Rp300 Million Stolen By Thieves
JAKARTA - A unit of Bank BRI's automated teller machine (ATM) placed in a minimarket on Narogong Pangkalan 3 street, Cikiwul Village, Bantargebang District, Bekasi City, West Java, was robbed by thieves, Thursday, June 17.
As a result of the incident, approximately Rp300 million in cash was lost, stolen by thieves, which are estimated to be more than one person.
"The missing shop items were several slips of cigarettes. But the money at the ATM was missing, approximately Rp300 million," said the head of minimarket Yana Mulaya, in Bekasi, as reported by Antara, Friday, June 18.
Yana said that the first time he found out that his workplace had been robbed was when he was about to open a shop at 05.30 western Indonesia time.

Yana then saw that the CCTV installed in the room had black duct tape attached. He then headed to the control room to view the CCTV footage and was shocked to see the back wall in a gaping condition due to the gang's break-in.
"The thief went through the side, broke through the wall from the outside, then broke into the ATM," he said.
The gang turned out to have also damaged the CCTV digital video recorder (DVR) machine, so that he could not see the footage when the incident occurred.
Now, this case is being handled by the Bantargebang Sector Police and the Bekasi City Metropolitan Police Resort so that the perpetrators are immediately revealed.
