Signs That Show Xiaomi Will Work On Electric Cars
JAKARTA – In the midst of rampant global electric car competition, a number of technology companies have begun to look at this opportunity. One of them is Xiaomi. The Chinese technology giant is rumored to be serious about working on electric cars.
It has been noted that Xiaomi boss Lei Jun has visited the Research and Development center at China's largest car manufacturer, Great Wall Motor. This information reinforces rumors that Xiaomi is serious about producing autonomous vehicles.
According to Ubergizmo's report, Lei Jun visited Great Wall Motor on June 8. The arrival of the Xiaomi boss occurred after his party was informed that they had collaborated with Great Wall Motor in the procurement of electric cars.
However, Xiaomi and Great Wall Motors were both being silent regarding Lei Jun's visit. He visited the Great Wall Motors car manufacturer R&D several times.

Previously, Xiaomi reportedly denied rumors that they would work on an electric car project. Not long after, the company announced their long-term plans and began investing in the procurement of electric cars worth USD 10 billion.
Not only Xiaomi will enter the arena of electric car competition, but Apple is also rumored to be doing the same thing. The technology giant from the United States has reportedly recruited an important figure from BMW and Canoo, Ulrich Kanz.
If Xiaomi and Apple succeed in realizing their plans in the next few years, both of them have the potential to become an obstacle to Tesla's dominance in the global electric car market.
