Cilacap Oil Refinery Tank Fire Was Successfully Controlled, Cause Still Investigating
CILACAP - Pertamina's joint team managed to control a fire in one tank of Pertamina's oil refinery in Cilacap, Central Java. Efforts to completely extinguish the Cilacap oil refinery are still being carried out, including the cooling process.
The tank fire in the Cilacap refinery area, Central Java, occurred at 19.45 WIB. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
"Efforts to extinguish the fire are carried out by spraying foam towards the hotspots. A total of 50 firefighters have been dispatched to deal with the fires," said PT KPI's Corporate Secretary, Ifki Sukarya in a written statement to reporters, Friday, June 11.

The Cilacap refinery is one of Pertamina's 6 refineries with a processing capacity of 270 thousand barrels per day. This refinery has about 200 tanks to accommodate crude to be processed, gas, and fuel from crude oil processing.
Despite the fire, Pertamina ensures that the supply of fuel and LPG for the community remains safe.
