10 Indonesian Air Force Combat Aircraft Land At Sri Mulyono Herlambang Air Base Palembang
PALEMBANG - A total of 10 Indonesian Air Force fighter aircraft of the F-16 and Hawk 100/200 types landed at Sri Mulyono Herlambang Air Base (SMH). This fighter aircraft is preparing to carry out exercises between units of the Koopsau I Jalak Sakti ranks.
The 10 aircraft consisted of 4 units of F-16 aircraft from the Pekanbaru 16 squadron, 3 units of the F-16 aircraft from the Pekanbaru 16 squadron, and 3 units of the Hawk 100/200 aircraft from the Pekanbaru 12 squadron.
Commander of the 12th Air Squadron Lt. Col. (Pnb) Putut Hanggiro after the landing, Thursday, said that during the annual exercise, his team would carry out maneuvers in the AWR Buding bombing field at Abdullah Sanusi Hanandjoeddin Air Force Base, Tanjung Pandan, Bangka Belitung.
"Tomorrow we will rehearse again before the official practice on June 14-16", he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 10.
The Hawk 100/200 team first tried to profile the bombing area in Tanjung Pandan a few hours before landing in Palembang, the SMH Air Base itself acted as an operating base for routine combat exercises between Air Force units centered in Tanjung Pandan, Bangka Belitung Province.
According to Hanggiro, the bombing field maneuver exercise was held for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic, because the Jalak Sakti 2020 exercise was not carried out.

Therefore, Hanggiro ensured that all soldiers implemented health protocols during a series of exercises to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
"We always use masks, wash our hands and keep our distance, we all follow the rules regarding the prevention of COVID-19 here", he explained.
The Jalak Sakti 2021 exercise was carried out to improve and test the ability of the Koopsau I line units in planning and implementing air operations strategies appropriately and successfully.
