The Spike In COVID-19 Cases In Many Areas, Now Batam And Karimun Are The Red Zones
TANJUNGPINANG - The COVID-19 Task Force has designated two areas in the Riau Islands, namely Batam City, and Karimun Regency as red zones.
The Head of the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tengku Said Arif Fadillah, said the increase in the status of COVID-19 in Batam and Karimun was due to a significant increase in the number of patients.
The number of COVID-19 patients as of June 9, 2021, in Batam increased by 164 people, bringing the total to 10.351 people, while in Karimun there was an increase of 140 people to 1.689 people.
Additional patients also occurred in Tanjungpinang as many as 56 people, Bintan 26 people, Natuna 14 people, and Anambas seven people. The total number of COVID-19 patients since the pandemic in Tanjungpinang is 3.640 people, Bintan 1.742 people, Lingga 407 people, Natuna 546 people, and Anambas Islands 867 people.
Tanjungpinang, Bintan, Natuna, Anambas and Lingga are still in the orange zone.
"The total number of COVID-19 patients in Riau Islands has reached 19.242", he said.
The number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 in Riau Islands increased by 388 people, spread across Batam 133 people, Tanjungpinang 25 people, Bintan 30 people, Karimun 183 people, Lingga five people, and the Anambas Islands 12 people.

The number of active cases in Riau Islands reached 2.84 people, spread in Batam 987 people, Tanjungpinang 418 people, Bintan 235 people, Karimun 315 people, Lingga 41 people, Natuna 186 people, and Anambas 102 people.
