England Vs Romania 1-0: Rashford Becomes A Hero, Henderson Fails To Execute A Penalty
JAKARTA - Marcus Rashford's penalty kick brought the England national team to a 1-0 win over Romania in a warm-up match on Sunday local time (Monday, western Indonesia time). But in this match, another Three Lions player, Jordan Henderson failed to execute the ball from the spot.
Rashford converted a penalty kick in the 68th minute to make goalkeeper Florin Nita die in England's final test ahead of the main round of Euro 2020 at Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough, England. The penalty is obtained after Jack Grealish is dropped by Tiberiu Capusa in the restricted area.
However, 10 minutes later Nita was able to show a better ability by denying England's next penalty, which was executed by Henderson.
The match was exciting with both teams involved in counter-attacks marked by two chances England hit the crossbar in the first half, before then goalkeeper Sam Johnstone thwarted an attempt from Deian Sorescu.
