COVID-19 Update As Of June 3rd: 5,353 New Cases, Addition Of Healed Cases Soared By 11,092

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 95,200 specimens were examined with the result that there were 5,353 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,831,773 people and today's active cases have decreased by 5,926 to 94,438 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, June 3.

Today's recovered cases increased by 11,092 cases, bringing the total to 1,691,593 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 187 people and the total was 51,095 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 1,176 cases and a total of 316,947 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 714 new cases with a total of 431,893 cases. Central Java has 687 new cases and a total of 202,363 cases. Then, Riau has 380 new cases and a total of 61,517 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 7,641 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 501 recovered cases, Riau with an additional 474 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 452 recovered cases.

Two provinces reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were Gorontalo and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 16,964,318.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 13.93 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 70,185 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

17,042,850 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 10,984,900 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
