Twitter Starts Putting Ads On Fleets
JAKARTA - Twitter ensures its service will no longer be free. As a result, the appearance of advertisements on Twitter, including Fleets, became one of the options for monetizing the service.
The social network bearing the blue bird logo has started to allow some advertisers to display their ads on Fleets. Even so, the ads displayed are temporary which will disappear after 24 hours.
Cited from Reuters, this ad is displayed in full-screen format and there will be a special link at the bottom. Similar to swipe up on Instagram Stories, when tapped, the link will direct the user to the advertiser's website.
"Fleets ads are like full-screen billboards for advertisers. The ratio that supports photos and videos is 9:16 with video lengths of up to 30", said Twitter Senior Product Manager Justin Hoang,
Twitter has previously stated their plans to double the company's annual revenue by 2023 compared to the previous year. One of their efforts to achieve this goal is to include ads in more features on both the website and app versions of Twitter.

"We also believe that showing ads should not be distracting and instead provide more value to users. As such, we focused on learning more about user responses and how they interact with these kinds of ads," Twitter said in a blog post.
If the response is good, it is not impossible for Twitter to officially release this function and expand its availability to all Twitter users worldwide. So, get ready for your Fleets to be immediately approached by advertisements.
