Ridwan Kamil Auctions His Paintings To Help Palestinians
BANDUNG - The Governor of West Java (West Java) M. Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil is auctioning his painting with the theme "Tawhid that Binds Differences" to be donated to Palestinians who are victims of Israeli attacks.
The auction of the painting made by Kang Emil was held during the Commemoration of the Birthday of Pancasila in 2021. The auction was held by Injabar in collaboration with Jabar Bergerak and the Yayasan Putera Nasional Indonesia, at Sate Building Bandung.
In the event hosted by host Muhammad Farhan, Kang Emil offered his painting at a price of Rp50 million.
Kang Emil admits that the artwork does not have a price limit so it is not enough if it is valued in money.
"But for donations to the Palestinian people, I offer Rp50 million," he said, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 1.
According to Kang Emil, this support for Palestine is a social responsibility.
"Actually, supporting Palestine is already internal and external. According to Bung Karno's message, as long as Palestine is not independent, we will not stop supporting it," he continued.
He told about the support of the Palestinian people for Indonesian independence in the past.
"In the past, Palestinian merchants contributed money, Palestinian clerics invited other countries to recognize Indonesia's independence. Now we need us, so we must support them," said Kang Emil.
