A Number Of Locations In Bekasi Were Submerged By Floods Due To Heavy Rain, There Were 7 Points
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bekasi City, West Java noted that at least seven points in the area were flooded due to heavy rains that hit from Saturday afternoon until evening.
"Heavy rains have flooded a number of areas due to an increase in the volume of water", said Bekasi City BPBD Chief Executive Agus Harpa in Bekasi, Saturday night, as reported by Antara.
Agus said the increase in water discharge had an impact on areas with poor drainage, causing inundation and even entering residential areas.
"This high-intensity rain has resulted in seven points being flooded until tonight", he said.
The seven points are Pondok Gede Housing 1, Jati Rahayu, Pondok Melati where the standing water is 30-70 centimeters high, and Perum Jatibening Permai as high as 60 centimeters.
Then at the Pondok Hijau Public Housing Corporation with 30 centimeters of standing water, the main roads of the Bird Market and North Rawalumbu Public Housing, Pengasingan as high as five to 30 centimeters, and East Bekasi Narogong Public Corporation with a water level of 10-80 centimeters.

"These five points have poor drainage systems. Drains that don't work properly have resulted in rainwater not flowing so that it inundated the roads", he said.
Meanwhile, the other two flood points are in Perum Bumi Nasio Indah and the IKIP Lecturer's Housing with the water level being monitored at 30-90 centimeters.
At these two points, Agus said, in addition to heavy rains, puddles were also caused by overflowing Bekasi River water.
"Officers have carried out an assessment at the location. Overall, some points have begun to recede", he said.
