Export Of 366 Motorcycle And Car Units To Timor Leste Without Document Was Thwarted By Police
JAKARTA - The Pati Police, Central Java, thwarted the export of 325 motorcycles and 41 cars of various brands without valid vehicle documents for the purpose of the State of Timor Leste via Singapore.
"Reveal of this case started on May 19, 2021, we secure two container trucks containing 11 cars and 57 motorbikes in a warehouse in Gadingrejo Village, Juwana District, Pati Regency," said Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi accompanied by Pati Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Arie Prasetya Syafa'at during a press conference in Pati, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 28.
In addition to the evidence of vehicles that are ready to be sent to Timor Leste at the warehouse on Juwana-Pati Street KM 3 in Gadingrejo Village, he said, the Pati Police have secured seven suspects.
It is then developed and coordinating with Pelindo Tanjung Emas Port Semarang, 15 containers are caught containing 268 units of motorbikes and 30 units of cars of various brands and types, ready to be shipped to Timor Leste.

"It turns out that this crime has been going on for three years. We appreciate the investigators and the Pati Police for successfully uncovering this case," he said.

From the results of the identification of all these vehicle units, all of them were illegal or not equipped with valid motor vehicle documents. Meanwhile, to get hundreds of units of two-wheeled vehicles, they were purchased online and rented, then released at a warehouse in Juwana to be sent through Tanjung Emas Port, accompanied by documents and sent to Timor Leste.
"The police have coordinated with Customs and Excise and PT Pelindo to delay the delivery of 15 containers containing hundreds of vehicles without a valid vehicle certificate," he said.
Nine suspects allegedly involved in the crime are subject to Article 481 of Criminal Code subsidiary Article 480 of Criminal Code jo Article 55 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for seven years.
