North Sumatra Police Checks Head Of Medan Detention Center As Witness Of Illegal COVID-19 Vaccination Cases

MEDAN - Subdirectorate III/Corruption Crime Investigators of the North Sumatra Regional Police investigated the Head of the Class I Medan State Detention Center (Karutan) with the initials TAP. He was examined as a witness in a case of illegal COVID-19 vaccination.

The Head of Sub-Division of Public Information for the North Sumatra Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant MP Nainggolan, said the witness was cooperative and willing to attend the summons of North Sumatran Police investigators.

He said the witness had been questioned this afternoon and had time to take a break for lunch.

"The examination of the witnesses went well," said Nainggolan as quoted by Antara, Friday, May 28.

Previously, investigators from the North Sumatra Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate examined the Acting Head of the North Sumatra Health Service (Kadis), Dr. AYR, and the former Head of the North Sumatra Health Office, Dr. AHB as the witnesses of the same case.

The North Sumatra Regional Police previously named four suspects in a suspected bribery case in the implementation of the illegal COVID-19 vaccination activity.

The four suspects are SW (40) Medan property agent Polonia (giver of bribes), dr IW (45) State Civil Apparatus/doctor at the Medan Detention Center Class I (recipient of bribes), dr KS (47) State Civil Apparatus/doctor at the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office (recipient of bribery), and the Head of Surveillance of the North Sumatra Health Office, SH.

Suspect SH as the organizer carried out vaccination activities that were not in accordance with the designation for community groups at Jati Residence Housing Complex on Perintis Kemerdekaan Street, Medan Perjuangan District, Medan City.
